Wide Receiver finally a strength for Titans?
For the first time in Titans history, i.e. since the team moved to Nashville, wide receiver seems to be a strength for the team. Really, the Titans are going to have a tough decision to make as this years crop of receivers are battling hard for repetitions and playing time. Nate Washington, Damien Williams, Kendall Wright and an injured Kenny Britt are locks.
Marc Mariani, Michael Preston, James Kirkendoll, Marcus Harris, D.J. Woods, Chase Deadder, and LaQuinton Evans are battling for the final roster spots and the competition is fierce. I would put Mariani, Preston and Evans as the lead for extra slots but there is still time for someone to distance himself from the pack. The competition is close.
I look for the Titans to carry 6 if not 7 wide receivers this year as Munchak has indicated he plans to run 5 WR sets. Don't forget, Jared Cook can split out and play receiver as well.
